Centex-Pulte

Centex-Pulte (NYSE: PHM) is a well know national builder that resulted from the mega merger of two the the nations largest home builders in 2009. They entered the market when they purchased Teal Construction in or around 2000. They are one of the few builders that can compete with Ryan due to their size and ability to produce homes at lower prices than their competitors.

Due to their size and presence in many markets, they have the ability to build a diverse set of plans meaning that they can compete at many different levels.

Centex-Pulte is currently building in some subdivisions, albeit at a rate slower than several years ago and is keeping their philosophy of building lower cost homes in PUD type subdivisions.
